Please excuse my crazy hair! I would blame it on the wind, but I’m still attempting to figure out this top knot thing. Clearly I’m a little late to the game with this hair trend. Although, I never said I was a hair guru! Since I was stepping out of my style box with these sunnies, I thought I would try something a little different with my hair too. Luckily, I had the cutest pink dress to bring out the girliness in this edgier look.

This dress is very similar to one that I wore just a few months ago. The fabric is slightly different though, and very much so in a good way. I pulled it out of the package and not one single wrinkle! How crazy is that?! It is also not clingy at all which is perfect for this Texas heat.

After describing this pink dress, it sounds like it is the perfect beach vacation look. No wrinkles, not clingy, plus this color looks amazing on a tan. That’s a no brainer to me! I am totally loving this look! I’m not one to wear a loose top with loose bottoms, but for some reason, this outfit just works. This paisley off-the-shoulder top pairs perfectly with these flares. It also looks just as cute with a pair of white cut off shorts.

On another note, can y’all believe how quickly July is flying by? Especially this week! I took Monday off and tomorrow starts my weekend. I’m headed to Colorado for a family girls’ weekend. What are y’all up to this weekend?

Happy Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, y’all! I finally took the time last night to sit down and go through the entire sale. Let me tell you, this sale has one of the best product selections I’ve seen yet. This year I took a completely different approach to shopping the sale, so that is why I am just now sifting through it.

I made a list of the top 3 things I needed, and I only searched for those 3 items. I didn’t even bat an eye at anything else until I put those items I absolutely had to have in my shopping bag. Fortunately, I was able to restrain myself and only bought what was needed. I bought these designer jeans for under $100, a new black skirt that is perfect for work and some over-the-knee boots. These three items will be worn weekly, so I’m feeling extremely confident about my purchases. They should arrive tomorrow and I will be sure to share my thoughts on these products!

A few of the other items that were on my must-have list that will have to wait until round 2 were a plaid shirt, lace up flats, a perfect fall hat and a crisp white button up blouse. I am also loving this Topshop dress because it is a great wear-now piece but also perfect for fall. It would be so cute with a black blouse underneath. And can we talk about this powder blue Rebecca Minkoff bag?! Seriously, I never knew I needed a bag this color, but I have to have it!

My closet has seriously been lacking in the black sandal department. Every year I like to get myself a little something for my birthday. How to Master the Half Tuck

I started half tucking my shirts thanks to J.Crew. A few years ago I was flipping through one of their catalogs and was immediately inspired by this style. It is probably one of the easiest and simplest styling tricks that I use to elevate my wardrobe. Typically I like to half tuck t-shirts and button up blouses, but you can do this to any shirt or sweater!

All I do is take the center of the bottom of my shirt and tuck it into my pants. Seriously, it is that simple! Sometimes I pull out the tuck to make it a little blousier and other times I tightly tuck it in. It totally depends on my mood for that day. With button up blouses and oxfords, you can tuck in both sides of the shirt or just one side for a messier look. I’ve also seen people tuck their top in on just the left or right side versus the center. That is the beauty of styling, it is completely up to you and how you are feeling!
